How to use gestures in LML

This is a video version of the content of this article.

This article covers how to use the gestures tool in Link Master Logging (LML), including
  1. what gestures are
  2. how we create gesture scripts
  3. how we use gestures during tests

Gesture Basics

Gestures are scripts that simulate taps and swipes during mobile phone tests, letting you initiate nonstandard voice calls, save log files, and much more. The power of gestures is their flexibility, they let you consistently replicate any action during your tests!

Creating Gesture Scripts

Open the gesture editor by clicking Setup -> Gesture

Select new (1), then select which action you would like to record (2) (if you plan on using the gesture during a scenario mode wait(exec) command, record the gesture in the MO(Dial) tab). Next, select the channel the device is connected to (3) and hit show (4). You are now ready to record a gesture.

To record a gesture, press Start Touch, then use the mouse to perform actions on the device. The device should respond to your actions. When you are done, press Stop Touch and hit Save. Congratulations, you have now recorded a gesture!

Tip: If you want to see if your gesture worked, use the Replay button.

Using Gestures During Tests

There are a variety of places gestures can be used in LML. For example, to initiate a voice call using gestures, select the custom service option, then add gestures using the highlighted region below.

Gestures are also useful to streamline tests using scenario mode, allowing you to automate processes such as saving local log files or opening apps.

Note: The MO(Dial) gesture will run when using gestures in this way.
