In this article, we'll look at managing your favorite parameters in LMA and how you can use this to improve your efficiency in running analyses. Because there can be a lot of data available in your LMA workspace, using favorites helps ensure you're looking at the most commonly-used ones.
Before you begin, please launch LML, create a workspace, and load your log files. You're welcome to use an existing workspace that you've previously populated.
Let's say that you're working with the following parameters:
There are two ways to generate your favorites.
In the data grid, right-click and select Save to Favorite.
You'll be prompted to provide a Group Name for this set of parameters. Click OK to proceed.
You can then access this group of favorites in the left-hand navigation panel under Favorites.
You can use the groups by right-clicking on its name and selecting the data display you want. For example, selecting Grid gets you a data grid based on the parameters included in the group you selected.
You can easily add parameters to an existing group of favorites. Simply right click on the attribute and select Add to Favorite.
You can rename the parameter if you'd like, or you can leave it as its default. You'll also select the group to which you want the parameter added. Click OK to proceed.
Please note that if you update a group, you'll have to recreate your data displays -- they do not automatically update to include your new attribute(s).
If you have a colleague also working in LMA, you can share your favorites group with your colleague. To do so, you'll want to right-click on the group you want shared, then select one of the export options:
You'll be prompted to name your file (which is in XPF format) and to save it in a location you can easily access at a later time.
You can import favorites groups by right-clicking the Favorites section of left-hand navigation panel and selecting Import Favorite.
Select the file containing the groups you want to import and click Open.
