How to use LMA Filters

This is a video tutorial covering the same topic of this article.

This article covers how to use filters in Link Master Analysis (LMA), including
  1. What filters do
  2. How to create/use filters

Filter basics

In LMA, filters allow you to apply custom filters to the data from a test, letting you explore specific scenarios within a larger dataset. For example, you may want to look at data collected when the RSRP was below -100 dBm, or when the throughput was above 5 mbps. You can create a filter for any non-triggered parameter, so the sky is the limit.

In this article, we are going to walk through how you could set up a filter to analyze data from two specific PCIs from a larger drive test.

How to create a new filter

With the data file loaded into LMA, left click on the life name, select Filter>New Filter

This will open the Filter Editor. Name the filter, then drag and drop the parameter you want to filter to the right box. Then, using the Alias defined by LMA, define the condition you want to use for the filter. These conditions use the standard logical operators (>, <, ==, etc.). The example below will only display data when the PCI equals 28 or 29.

You have now created a new filter! Any filters you are create are saved within LMA, so you can use them on any dataset you like.

How to use filters

To use a filter on a specific dataset, left click on the data file, then select Filter>Set Filter

After the filter editor opens, select the filters you want to apply and hit OK. If you want to apply multiple filters at the same time, make sure the correct Combination button is selected.

Filters apply to all data, meaning that if you filter the data by using one parameter (say when PCI = 28), then other parameters will only show up if that condition is met (ie. RSRP will only display at moments when the PCI = 28)

If you would like to remove a filter, simply left click, Filter>Cancel Filter, and the dataset will return to normal.
